RunMichigan.com had a chance recently to talk with West Bloomfield (MI) High School senior Erin Finn. Erin is coming off a great indoor season that saw her dominate the field at the national class 2013 Brooks PR Invitational in February, winning the Girls' 2 Mile in a time of 10:08. At the 2013 New Balance Indoor Nationals 5000 Meters in New York City on March 8, Erin ran a bold race, leading the entire way only to be edged out at the tape. Erin still ran 16:18, which despite getting her second place, was a new PR. In 2012 at that same meet, she took first overall and set a new National Indoor Scholastic 5000 Meter record, running 16:19 for 5000.
