Fifth Third River Bank Run - Link to Results Grand Rapids, Michigan by RunMichigan.com staff, The Fifth Third River Bank Run celebrated its 35th Anniversary on Saturday, May 12 as over 21,000 participants competed in a 5K, 10K and the main event, the River Bank Run 25K. The 25K also served as the USA 25K National Championships. What started in 1978 by Frank Cashman of the Grand Rapids Track Club and Marty Allen, then Marketing Director for Old Kent Bank, has become one of the nation's top road races and the largest 25K in the country. Top Michigan finishers in the 25K and or finishers with Michigan ties in the men's race included Christopher Landry of Ann Arbor with a time of 1:15:47 (3rd Overall) and Josh Eberly of Gunnison Colorado in 9th place with a time of 1:18:09. Eberly is a former member of the Hansons-Brooks team and also is on the staff of RunMichigan.com. Other top finishers for the men in the 25K were former University of Michigan runner, 40 year-old Ian Forsyth of Ann Arbor in a time of 1:22:38, good enough for 17th place overall. In the women's race, two Hansons-Brooks runners broke into the top 5, with Lake Orion's Melissa Johnson-White taking home third place overall in 1:26:22 and Dot McMahan of Rochester Hills finishing in fourth in 1:26:29. Former Michigander Jeannette Faber, who nows lives in Portland, Oregon, ended up seventh overall for the women in 1:27:16. Link to Results Full results provided by Classicrace.com
