Shane Skelcy has been diagnosed with a rare sarcoma. He is the 10 year son of Mark and Deanna Skelcy. The entire family Mark, Deanna, sisters Allison and Caitlyn and Shane are putting their energy into a charity called Fredsteam. This particular charity helps raise funds and awareness to pediatric cancer research.
Fredteam was started by Fred Lebowe, one of the founders of the New York Marathon. The Skelcy Family feels this is a great way to fight back and contribute at the same time. Running has played an important part in the lives of the Skelcy family.

On Saturday, June 27th a training run is being organized to raise funds for the Fredsteam charity. You don’t have to be a runner to join us! If you walk, bike, skip, hop whatever, join us at the Brewery in Rochester. The run starts at 2:00. Remember it’s just for fun, not a race!!
