CLASS C REGION#22 MICHIGAN HIGH SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD Benzie Central High School runs away with Girls Title Mesick High School wins Boys Crown By John Brabbs - RunMichigan.com! East Jordan, MI 5/22/99 Men's & Women's Results & Photos Benzie Central's girls team wins 9 of the 17 events to take the girls title with 112 points. Benzie's Caryn Waterson wins the 1600 meter (5:20) and 800 meter runs (2:22.3), and also runs on the winning 3200 meter relay and 1600 meter relay teams. Amber Bright takes two titles home for Benzie by winning the 100 Meter Hurdles and 300M Hurdles. Kingsley wins 3 of the 5 field events for a 2nd place team finish. Boyne City's Ann Gaudard win's the 100 meter dash helping Boyne onto a 7th place finish. Christi Shibata of Harbor Springs breaks 12:00 minutes to win the 3200 meter in 11:56. GIRLS TEAM SCORING: Benzie Central 112; Kingsley Area 86.50; Traverse City St. Francis 59; Inland Lakes 40.5; Harbor Springs 39; Charlevoix 38.5; Boyne City 32.5; Lake City 34; Maple City-Glen Lake 22; Omekama 16.5; Lincoln Alcona 16; East Jordan 12; Mesick 12; Suttons Bay 11; Macelona 4; Manton 1.5 Mesick High School wins 4 events on the way to the boys Class C Region#22 crown. Adam Lyon of Mesick helped his teams cause by winning both the 110 Meter Hurdles (14.50) and 300 Meter I-Hurdles (39:00). Jake Flynn of Benzie Central helped pace his team to a 3rd place finish, by winning the 3200 Meter (9:46:00), placing 2nd in the 1600 Meter run (4:23.5), 3rd in the 800 Meter run (2:03.1), and being on the winning 3200 Meter Relay team. Jacques Henning, Harbor Springs, wins the 1600 Meter(4:20) and 800 Meter(1:58.7).
