Harrison Hensley, beloved fixture in Michigan's running community, passes away at age 90

Harrison Hensley of Pinckney, a beloved fixture in Michigan's running community, passed away on May 3, 2023 at the age of 90.
Hensley was incredibly active for his entire life and was very devoted to his own running and to promoting the sport of running in Michigan. He not only participated in racing events well into his 80s, but many will remember him as the long-time race director of the famous Run Thru Hell in Hell, Michigan.
Hensley and his wife Dolores both also spent many years volunteering their time at various races, serving in every capacity - from race directors to finish line support. Sadly, Dolores passed away in 2010.
Hensley was also an unselfish and thoughtful contributor to many running organizations in Michigan, both financially and with his time, including to RunMichigan. He will be missed by so many across our state, especially by the many events and causes to which he contributed.
Thank you Harrison for your support of our efforts at RunMichigan and for everything you did through the years for your family and for the running community of Michigan.
