OU - Czarnecki Sets New School Record in 1500m

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Heather Czarnecki placed fourth and broke the school record in the 1500m with a time of 4:34.10 at the Al Owens Classic hosted by Grand Valley State University. Megan Nichols came in right behind Czarnecki in sixth place with a time of 4:34.75. Nichols’s time was also under the previously existing school record.

In addition, Keenan Jones placed second in the 1500m (3:54.26) while Sammy Mondry placed fourth in the 5000m (17:50.78).

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Brandon Davis placed third in the long jump with a mark of 22 ft., 9 in. at the final day of the Ohio State Jesse Owens Invite. Jimmie Williams placed fifth in the 400m with a time of 47.83 and ninth in the 200m with a time of 21.74.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Jacob Bowman placed fifth in the 5000m with a time of 13:57.41 at the Virginia Challenge. This time was a personal best for Bowman and also makes him the first athlete in Oakland history to run two 5k’s under 14 minutes. Bryce Stroede placed 15th in the 5000m (14:03.58) and Maggie Schneider placed 30th (17:00.47).

Oakland will continue competition April 26-28 at the Hillsdale Gina Relays.
