EMU Women - 400 Relay Team Puts Exclamation Point on Tennessee Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team concluded the Tennessee Relays with a handful of outstanding performances Saturday, April 14, in Knoxville, Tenn.
In the third and final day of competition, which consisted of mostly relays, EMU saw the 400 relay team notch one of the best times in program history. The cohort consisting of senior Jasmine Jones (Greensburg, Pa.-Hempfield Area), juniors Brittni Mason (Richmond Heights, Ohio-West Geauga) and Jessica Harris (Slidell, La.-Slidell), and sophomore Micah Johnston (Toledo, Ohio-Toledo Christian) ran to a time of 45.39, which serves as the fifth fastest time in the Eastern record book.
Senior Dace Dreimane (Ventspils, Latvia-Ventspils Gymnasium No. 1) also had an impressive performance in the triple jump, just missing her personal-best mark of 12.87, which is the program record in the event, reaching a distance of 12.85 to place sixth.
In that same event, freshman Crystal Washington (Los Angeles, Calif.-Carson) marked a career-high distance of 12.15m, finishing 12th.
EMU will have another action packed weekend upcoming, as they will send representatives to the Virginia Invitational in Charlottesvilla, Va., Thursday-Saturday, April 19-21, and the Jesse Owens Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, Friday-Saturday.
