RALEIGH, N.C. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University women's track and field senior Natalie Cizmas (Clinton Twp., Mich.-Chippewa Valley) ran to a fifth-place finish in the 800m at the Raleigh Relays Saturday, March 31, in Raleigh, N.C.

The senior raced to an impressive time of 2:09.58, winning her heat and besting the likes of 18 other runners. That mark serves as a new outdoor personal record for Cizmas, moves her up to eighth all-time in the EMU outdoor record book, and also serves as the fastest 800m time in the Mid-American Conference thus far this season.

With that performance, Cizmas caps off an incredible weekend of competition, having broke the 1500m school record in last night's race with a time of 4:16.83. Additionally, her 1500m time also crushes the previous best held in the MAC this season by over 13 seconds, as the Clinton Twp., Mich. native moves herself to the top of both the 800 and 1500m rankings.

Cizmas and the Eagles return to competition next weekend, Friday-Saturday, April 6-7, when they take part in the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich.
