The 11th-ranked Hillsdale College women's track team managed to get out of town ahead of the snow just in time to participate in both days of the GVSU Big Meet, held on the campus of Grand Valley State University Friday and Saturday.
Senior Hannah McIntyre was the top collegiate finisher in the 3000 meter run Friday night, taking second overall with a time of 9:31.46.
Junior Allysen Eads has shown rapid drops in her times in recent weeks, and turned in another terrific performance for Hillsdale Friday night. She placed third in the mile with a time of 4:54.39, an NCAA provisional-qualifying time.
Another unit that saw a drop in its time was the 4x400 relay team of Victoria Wichman, Zalonya Eby, Ashlee Moran and Lorina Clemence, who took fourth with a provo time of 3:49.71.
Saturday, a different 4x400 relay lineup took to the track at GVSU, as the grouping of Carmen Botha, Calli Townsend, Hannah Watts and Abbie Porter took first place with a 3:56.18.
Eads was busy again Saturday, running the lead leg of the distance medley relay team. She was joined by Clemence, Porter and Sawyer, as they ran to a time of 12:00.85.
Hillsdale is home each of the next two weekends, starting with the Hillsdale Tune Up on Feb. 17.
