CU - National Marks highlight big weekend for M/W T&F

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich./BLOOMINGTON, Ind./GOSHEN Ind. – It was a great all-around weekend for the Cornerstone Track & Field teams as they competed at three different locations including Saginaw Valley State and Goshen College on Friday and Indiana University both Friday and Saturday. CU had six different individuals and two relays punch their tickets to the NAIA Indoor National Championships.
Alexis McConnell – set a new freshman record in the 5,000 (by 54 seconds) and hit NAIA A standard with time of 18:05.54
4x800 Relay – Team of Val Richter, Ally Rabe, Sierra Albus and Amanda Sorokin – Auto Standard with time of 9:36.78
Event Winners – Morgan Luedy – 400m (60.6), Meredith Haddad – Long Jump (5.16m), Makayla Clum – 200m (26.64)
PR's – Morgan Luedy (400 and LJ), Mara VanOrder (200), Makayla Clum (200), Hanna Drake (60m), Jaxsen Meldrum (60m Hurdles)
Colin De Young – finished 4th in the 3,000 – hit NAIA A Standard with time of 8:28.93
Sam Elmi, Jacob Benson and Jason Rabie – all qualified in the 3,000m Racewalk – Elmi (13:39), Benson (14:43), Rabie (15:12)
4x800 Relay – quartet of Joey De Boer, Colin DeYoung, Nate Silvey and Kevin Vroegh – set a new school record with time of 7:43.28 – A Standard for NAIA Indoor Meet
PR - Doug Hollet won the 3k and set a new PR
Cornerstone will head to Ohio next weekend for a 2-day meet at University of Findlay.
