Aquinas - Men's CC Takes 8th at Louisville

The Aquinas men's cross country team placed eighth out of 21 non-NCAA teams at the Greater Louisville Classic in Kentucky on Saturday (Sept. 30). AQ placed a pair of runners in the top-30 of one of the biggest collegiate meets in the country.
Overall, the Saints' score of 246 sandwiched Aquinas between seventh-place Indiana Tech (233) and ninth-place Madonna (250). Rhodes was the non-NCAA winner with a score of 88 points, with Lewis-Clark (107) and Columbia (121) rounding out the top-three totals.
Arik LaFave (SO/Hesperia, Mich.) placed 22nd in the competition with a time of 25:54.82 and Joey Ciaravino (JR/Harper Woods, Mich.) finished 28th at 26:08.91. Another Aquinas duo of Angelo Leon (SO/Grand Rapids, Mich.) (26:48.70) and Adam Gizowski (JR/St. Clair, Mich.) (26:49.00) took 62nd and 63rd place in the 8K race.
Luke Simonds (JR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) finished in 71st place with a time of 27:02.05, while Evan Dunklee (JR/Canton, Mich.) (27:06.78) and Tyler Champenoy (SO/Fort Gratiot, Mich.) (27:07.81) crossing the finish line in 76th and 78th place, respectively.
The Saints will run next on Oct. 6 in Mishawaka, Ind. at the Bethel College Invitational.
