Aquinas Women - Saints Find Success at George Glass Invitational

The women's track and field team won four events on Saturday afternoon and saw many other fine performances at the George Glass Invitational. Megan Hicks (JR/Mt. Clemens, Michigan) claimed the gold in javelin (111-6), Taylor Pitts (SR/St. Clair Shores, Michigan) recorded the "W" in the triple jump (34-4), while Adri Sigafoose (JR/McBain, Michigan) won the 800 meters (2:15.47) and teamed up with Taylor Ward (SO/Hastings, MI), Tori DeSira (JR/Dewitt, Michigan), and Alexandra Fortenberry (FR/Muskegon, Michigan) to earn the win in the 4x400 meter relay (3:59.03).
Courtney Truss (JR/Traverse City, Michigan) also played a starring role for the Saints as she placed second in the 100 meters (12.14) and third in the 200 meters (25.31). Her mark in the 100 meters was a provisional qualifier and also ranks her #4 on the Saints All-Time List. The Saints also saw a trio of hurdles hit the "B" standard in the 100 meter hurdles. Tori DeSira (2nd - 14.77), Alex King (SR/Lakeview, Michigan) (3rd - 14.88), and Amore Brown (SO/Flint, Michigan) (5th - 15.03) all finished within the top five of the meet.
Other top five finishes were recorded by: Analis Floyd (SO/Grand Rapids, Michigan) (4th - 200M - 25.79), Ward (3rd - 400M - 1:00.69), Fortenberry (4th - 400M - 1:01.63), Sydney Anderson (SR/Livonia, Michigan) (3rd - 800M - 2:21.35), Tannah Adgate (FR/Wayland, Michigan) (5th - 1500M - 5:01.81), Bailey Ballard (FR/Hopkins, Michigan) (4th - Discus - 124-11), Brown (4th - HJ - 5-3), Skye Morgan (SO/Grand Rapids, Michigan) (2nd - TJ - 33-11.25), Pitts (5th - LJ - 16-8.75), AmyGrace Shoop (JR/Ludington, Michigan) (4th - Javelin - 102-9), Rachel Spreng (JR/Lansing, Mich.) (3rd - PV - 11-1.75), and Erin Drouillard (JR/Mecosta, Michigan) (5th - PV - 10-8).
The Saints will return to action next weekend at the Benedictine Relays.
