Alma - Arnold and Goggins Claim Victories at Ferris State University

Big Rapids, Mich. – Alma College track and field travelled to Ferris State University, on Saturday April 8, to compete in the Bulldog Open.
Senior Kaitlyn Arnold (Jackson, Mich. / Jackson Northwest) came away from the 5000-meter run victorious, with a time of 17:31.46, nearly besting her current season-best set at the GVSU Big Meet during the indoor season.
Sophomore Erin Goggins (Hastings, Mich. / Hastings) also earned a first-place rank at Ferris State, winning the pole vault with a final jump of 3.05 meters.
The men's 4x100 meter team of freshmen John Mitrzyk (Standish, Mich. / Standish-Sterling) and Kendric Powell (Macon, GA / Macon Central) and sophomores Essa Kellah (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Godwin Heights) and John Vusich (Perrinton, Mich. / Fulton) finished second, coming within a couple strides of a victory.
Freshman Jacob Wildenhaus (Jackson, Mich. / Lumen Christi) finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.42 seconds.
Alma College track and field will return to campus to host the Jim Cole Scottie Open on Friday, April 14. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
