LSSU - Thomas qualifies 10th in 200 for NCAA Indoor Nationals

NEW ORLEANS - Lake Superior State senior Oshane Thomas has qualified 10th for the 2017 NCAA Indoor Nationals in the men's 200-meter dash.
Thomas clocked a :21.37 early in the season. He is ranked second in the Midwest Region and will compete in the NCAA Championships March 10-11 in Birmingham, Ala.
Thomas is seeded behind Mobalde Ajomale (Academy of Art, :20.85), Marcus Parker (Eastern New Mexico, :21.21); Ian Kerr (Adams State, :21.24); Demontez McCray (McKendree, :21.26); Steven Cooper (West Texas A&M, :21.27); Marquett Simmons (Limestone, :21.27); Kenneth Jackson (Texas A&M-Kingsville, :21.29); Dillando Allotey (Fort Hays State, :21.32) and Khallifah Rosser (Cal State-LA, :21.35). McCray is the region's No. 1 seed.
Senior Robert Valdez cleared 2.07 meters (6-9 1/2) to place fifth in the high jump at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. He is tied for 20th nationally in the event, but missed qualifying for nationals by three centimeters.
