Davenport U - Two National Qualifiers Highlight Panthers Performance At The Quad Meet

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Track and field competed at the Quad Meet hosted by Aquinas College yesterday and finished second out of the four teams competing. Davenport finished with a combined score of 268 points and saw a couple national qualifying performances.
Junior Mallory Bont hit the automatic qualifying standard in the high jump. She jumped 1.65m, which was the exact NAIA A standard for women.
Senior Kardokh Piromari hit the NAIA B standard for men weight throw. He threw a distance of 16.48 and the NAIA B standard is 16.25m.
Kyla Mann broke the school record for longest women's triple jump, she jumped 10.74m and took first place in the event.
Will Jones broke the men's shot put record with a toss of 14.94m, which was good for fourth place at the meet.
Samantha Morrison broke the women's record for fastest time in the 60 meter hurdles. She ran a 9.38 in the finals and took third place.

Parker Harris took first place in the triple jump with a 12.91m leap.
Alexander Lake, who has already qualified for nationals in the weight throw, threw a 16.48 to tie fellow teammate Piromari for second place in the event.
The team will compete at Grand Valley State next Friday; this is the second time the team travels to Allendale to compete at GVSU.
