UDM - Thrice Is Nice For Kendell As He Earns HL Player Of The Week

INDIANAPOLIS (10/17/2016) -- University of Detroit Mercy junior Ben Kendell keeps on collecting Horizon League honors as the harrier was tabbed the HL Runner of the Week for the third time this season.
It is also the eighth time in his career that Kendell has received the weekly conference accolade.
Kendell won his second race of the season at the Canisius Alumni Classic, setting a course record with a time of 24:27. He became the first Titan with multiple wins in a year since Chris McPhee posted two victories in 2001.
In his four events on the season, Kendell has two wins, a runner-up effort, four top-10 finishes and set the school 8k record of 24:15 at the Greater Louisville Classic.
At the National Catholic Championship, he was second, but the top Division I runner, in a time of 25:06, good for the fourth-fastest time in school history at Notre Dame. At the Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational, he recorded the second fastest time in school history at Cass Benton Park, winning the race in 20:24.
Kendell and the Titans are currently training for the Horizon League Championships, scheduled for Oct. 29 at the Wayne E. Dannehl National XC Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
