Hope College - Men's Cross Country Takes 17th Place at Louisville Classic

The Hope College men's cross country finished 17th out of 43 teams at the 2016 Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Silver Division race on Saturday.
The Flying Dutchmen competed on the same course at Sawyer State Park in Kentucky where the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships will be run.
Hope totaled 504 points.
Junior Ben Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect HS) topped the Flying Dutchmen by 36th-place time of 25 minutes, 56.6 seconds on the 8K course.
Senior Tyler Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern) placed 60th at 26:22.46.
Sophomore Ryan Holman of Holmen, Wisconsin (Holmen) took 141st at 27:33.57.
Junior Jacob Jansen of Johnston, Iowa (Johnston) clocked a 167th-place time of 27:52.18.
Senior Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit) rounded out Hope's scoring with a 170th place effort of 27:56.05.
Other finishers in Hope's top seven were freshman Joseph Dawson of Richland, Michigan (Gull Lake) at 28:01.5. Junior Nicholai Shaw of Allendale, Michigan (Homeschool) at 28:10.44 in 190th.
The Flying Dutchmen's next race is Friday, Oct. 7 at the Lansing Community College Invitational.
