SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Spencer Nousain finished 41st Friday to lead the Central Michigan men’s cross country team to an 18th place finish in the Gold 5K race at the Joe Piane Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame.

Nousain finished in 25 minutes, 31.5 seconds. CMU finished with a 435 team score. Utah Valley (114) was first, followed by Duquesne (120) and IUPUI (141).

Also for CMU, Casey Voisin finished 56th (25:44.5), Bransen Stimpfel was 70th (25:54.2), Joseph Emmanuel was 128th (26:35.7), Alec Omell was 145th (26:55.9) and Adam Grifka finished 150th (26:59.3).

Robert Murphy of IUPUI won the race in 24:19.4. The race comprised 24 teams and 183 runners.
