Aquinas places 8th at National Catholic Championships

The men's cross country team placed 8th out of 28 schools at the National Catholic Championships. The meet was contested on the campus of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
Bellermine University won the team title in the non-division one race, while Chris Striegel of Bellarmine crossed the finish line first in a time of 24:56. The men, who finished with 225 points, were led by senior Tom Willet (SR/Sparta, Mich.) who recorded a 17th place finish in a time of 26:26. Joey Ciaravino (SO/Harper Woods, Mich.) (41st - 27:10), Arik LaFave (FR/Hesperia, Mich.) (47th - 27:20), and Gabe Kuyten (SO/Holland, Mich.) (65th - 27:59) finished in the second, third and fourth scoring positions for the Saints, while Nicholas Tarsa (JR/Traverse City, Mich.) (68th - 28:05) rounded out the scoring for Aquinas. The Saints will return to the course next week at the GRCC Invitational. The meet will be contested at Riverside Park.
