JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team concluded its time at the NCAA East Regional today, May 28. The Eagles competed in just one event on the day.

Representing the Green and White, redshirt junior Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio – Maumee) competed in the 5000m. After qualifying to the NCAA Championships in the 3000m steeplechase yesterday, Fink looked to carry the momentum over to today's competition. The Maumee, Ohio native crossed the finish line in 14:21.71, which put him in 18th overall, narrowly missing qualifying to the national championships in his second event by just six spots.

Head Coach John Goodridge is excited for the NCAA Championships in two weeks, stating "I'm looking forward to seeing Fink and Simmons represent EMU at the national championships in Eugene."

Fink, along with redshirt senior Solomon Simmons (Murrieta, Calif. – Murrieta Valley), will take part in the NCAA Championships, June 8-11. Fink will run in the 3000m steeplechase, while Simmons will compete in the decathlon.
