Men - Calvin Track and Field Athletes Run Wild at Hillsdale Gina Relays

The Calvin men's track and field team featured a split squad of athletes on Friday. At Calvin on Friday, Calvin's throwers competed at the Calvin Tune-Up Invitational while several of Calvin's distance athletes competed at the Hillsdale Gina Relays.
At the Calvin Tune-Up Invitational - the Knights competed in the hammer throw and javelin. Senior David Dadzie (Accra, Ghana/Ghana International School) took fifth in the javelin (161-6) and seventh in the hammer throw (158-5). Junior Erick Holder (Marian, Ind./Eastbrook HS) took third with a throw of 162-9.
At the Hillsdale Gina Relays, Calvin had several super performances. Junior Zach Nowicki (Comstock Park/Calvin Christian HS) posted a career-best time of 9:08 in the steeplechase that will place him in the top 10 of the NCAA III Outdoor Performance list. Senior Andre Otte (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) also had a career-best time of 9:33 in the event.
In the men's 10,000 meters, sophomore Andrew Philipose (Mount Prospect, Il./John Hersey HS) made his 10K debut with a blazing time of 30:16 that will most likely place him in the top 10 of the NCAA III Outdoor Performance list. Senior Ethan Anderson (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater Area HS) had a time of 31:08.
