Several members of the Hillsdale College men's track team made their final long-distance trip of the regular season over the weekend, traveling to Atlanta to compete in the Georgia Tech Invite.

Headlining the Charger contingent was Caleb Gatchell, who recorded a big personal record and NCAA provo time of 3:49.5 in the 1500 meter run. That time is just three seconds off the school record.

The 4x100 meter relay team set a new school standard with a time of 40.83 seconds, generated by the foursome of Todd Frickey, Lane White, Colby Clark and Alexander Mexicotte. Individually, Clark turned in an impressive performance in the 400 meter dash, finishing in 47.8 seconds, just over a second off Maurice Jones's school record time.

Freshman thrower Daniel Capek took third in the hammer throw with a toss of 58.9 meters. Sophomore Jared Schipper cleared 5.05 meters in the pole vault, good for fifth place. Senior Nick Shuster (pictured) cleared 6 feet, 3 inches in the high jump.

Many other Chargers ran at this weekend's Al Owens Invitational, hosted by Grand Valley State University. A link to those results can be found at the top of this release.
