BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Albion College racked up 20 points from four athletes in the 110-meter hurdles as it competed outdoors for the first time this season in the Southern Invitational.
Overall, Albion finished in a tie for second out of 12 teams attending the meet with 77 points.
Jephte Jean-Claude, who was fourth in the triple jump contested Friday, posted a second-place time of 15.95 seconds in the hurdles. Christopher Bratt was third (16.02), Richard Annorat was fourth (16.60) and Mitchell McCord was seventh (18.22).
Bratt added six points when he reached the finish line in 56.68 seconds in the 400 hurdles.
Justin Meredith, competing for the first time since winning Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association indoor championships in the 60 and 200 events, raced to fifth place in the 200 in 21.99 seconds, a season-best.
Meredith and Bratt joined Nick Bertoia and Radouane Ziani for a fourth place finish in the 4x400 relay (3:27.66).
In the field events, Albion racked up nine points in the javelin as Daniel Fick led three Britons to score. Fick finished fifth with a throw of 145' 1". Bertoia was sixth (135' 9") and Andrew Strzelecki was seventh (127' 3").
Albion added seven points in the high jump as Annorat and Zachary Osborne cleared 6' ¾".
Jacob Maurer finished sixth in the pole vault, clearing 11' 5 ¾".

Albion will head south again next weekend as it travels to Georgia for an invitational at Emory University.
