LSSU - Thomas qualifies sixth in the men's 200-meter dash

TIFFIN, Ohio – Lake Superior State junior Oshane Thomas clocked a :22.57 in the men’s 200-meter dash preliminaries and advanced to Sunday’s finals at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Tiffin University.
Thomas qualified sixth in the 200 was 10th in the men’s 400-meter dash preliminaries in :50.78.
Junior Spencer Montcastle is seventh among nine competitors after the first day of the men’s heptathlon. He placed fourth in the 60-meter dash, fifth in the long jump, sixth in the shot put and tied for seventh in the high jump.
Freshman Garrett Smith bettered his personal record by 40 seconds in the men’s 5,000-meter run and finished 14th in 15:33.61. Nolin Livingston was also 14th in the men’s weight throw with a distance of 17.01 meters, while Cole VanOosten was 21st with a distance of 15.96 meters. VanOosten posted a 20-centemeter personal record.
Yazin Joseph was 14th in the men's 60-meter hurdles preliminaries (:08.96) and 24th in the 400-meter dash (:52.67).
Hannah Passino led the Lake Superior State women's team by finishing 27th in the 5,000-meter run in 20:08.84.
