WMU - Track & Field Wraps Up GVSU Big Meet and Samford Open

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team finished up competition at the Samford Open and the Grand Valley State Big Meet on Saturday evening, with the Broncos at GVSU turning in the majority of the highlights.
Freshman Ashley White turned in two new personal-best times in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. White took seventh in the 60 after running a time of 7.88 seconds. In the 200 she ran a time of 25.60 seconds to finish 10th. Also in the 200 Davonne Bolden ran her personal-best time of 25.83 seconds. Bolden later went on a personal-best in the 400-meter dash at 58.65 seconds.
In the mile run Amy Little field turned in a huge personal-best time of 5:08.49, taking sixth overall.
Over at the Samford Open junior Claire Gilbert took the title in the mile run, breaking the 5-minute mark at 4:58.05. In the 3,000-meter run Hanne Christensen finished in fifth place with a time of 10:14.66.
The Broncos head back to the University of Notre Dame for the Alex Wilson Invitational on Friday.
