Calvin Women's Cross Country 11th at UW-Oshkosh AAE Invitational

WINNECONE, Wisc. - The Calvin women's cross country team placed 11th in a 45-team field race at the UW-Oshkosh AAE Invitational Saturday. The Knights recorded a team total of 351 points.
Junior Lauren Strohbehn (Stillwater, MN/St. Croix Preparatory HS) had a sterling effort for the Knights, placing fifth individually in a time of 21:23.
Sophomore Autumn Vonk (Holland/Zeeland West HS) was the next finisher for the Knights, placing 62nd in 22:38.
Freshman Katie Diekema (Kenmore, Wash./Ingelmoor HS) was 73rd in 22:47, followed by sophomore Katherine McClain (Kalamazoo/Kalamazoo Christian HS) in 76th (22:49) and junior Jessie Mulder (Holland/Holland Christian HS) in 140th (23:22).
Other Calvin finishers included sophomore Caroline Boss (Charlevoix/Charlevoix HS) in 183rd (23:44), senior Lora Huizingh (Byron Center/South Christian HS) in 183rd (23:44) and sophomore Marissa Hielkema (Lynden, Wash./Lynden Christian HS) in 197th (23:53).
Washington University of St. Louis took first place with a team score of 136 points. Megan Kellogg of St. Lawrence University took first place individually with a time of 21:11.70.
Calvin will now prepare for the MIAA Championships slated for October 31 in Charlotte, Michigan.
