WSU Women's Cross Country Finishes Fourth at Titan Invitational

Junior Leah Coonrod posted her first top-five finish with a time of 18:51.00.
NORTHVILLE – The Wayne State University men's cross country program placed fourth out of seven teams with 79 points at the 29th Annual Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational on Saturday. Three Warriors finished in the top-25 out of 61 runners with two placing in the top-five.
• Junior Leah Coonrod (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Gull Lake) posted a personal best with a time of 18:51.00, finishing third and senior Kayla Balfour (St. Clair, Mich.) was right behind placing fourth (18:58.10).
• Senior Anne Okonowski (Dearborn, Mich. / Divine Child) recorded a 22nd-place finish with a time of 20:26.40, while redshirt freshman Haley Reynolds (Riverview, Mich.) crossed the finish line at 20:48.50 in 26th place.
• Making her Warrior debut, Lake Superior State transfer, sophomore Morgan Sawgle (Fostoria, Mich. / North Branch) placed 27th at 20:57.70 and classmate Kaley Kauff (Allen Park, Mich.) posted a time of 21:11.20, respectively.
• Wayne State will travel to East Lansing to compete in the Spartan Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 19 at Forest Akers East Golf Course. The women will begin at 11:50 a.m. with the men starting at 12:20 p.m.
