JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (EMUEagles.com)--Eastern Michigan University's men's track and field team had three athletes competing on the second day of the NCAA East Regional, May 29.

Starting out the day for the Eagles was Ryan Brumfield (Chester Springs, Pa.-Owen J. Robert) in the high jump. The senior just missed out on qualifying to Eugene for the NCAA Championships with a 15th-place finish that tied his personal record of 2.09 meters/6 feet 10.25-inches.

In the quarterfinals of the 400m, Tyler Brown (Findlay, Ohio-Findlay) was unable to nab one of the coveted qualifying spots, finishing eighth in his heat in 47.57 seconds for a 23rd-place overall finish.

Another close mark came to Willy Fink (Maumee, Ohio-Maumee) in the 3000m steeplechase, as the sophomore competed in the fastest heat to finish sixth in the heat and 16th overall. Fink was able to shave six seconds off his personal best, clocking in at 8:47.17 to crack EMU's all-time top-10 list and take over the spot for the sixth-fastest harrier in the event. Additionally, Fink's time is the fastest by an Eagle since the 2007 campaign.
