Hillsdale College - Nationally Ranked Men's Track Team Gears Up for Home Meet Next Weekend

The Hillsdale College men's track team earned a handful of first-place finishes at the Bob Kahn Invite, held Saturday afternoon at Oberlin College in Ohio.
Leading the way was senior Maurice Jones (pictured), who won the 400 hurdles with a time of 53.35 seconds. He was later part of the winning 4x400 relay team. That relay was notable because Hillsdale's 'A' and 'B' teams went 1-2 in the race, beating out Tiffin's 'A' team, something that rarely occurs.
Nathaniel Nobbs threw the javelin further than anyone at the meet, winning the event with a mark of 48.6 meters. Freshman Jared Schipper, an indoor All-American, won the pole vault, clearing 4.90 meters.
Ty Etchemendy, Nick Shuster and Lane White all earned second places, coming in the 400 hurdles, high jump and 200 dash, respectively. The 4x100 relay team also placed second at the meet.
The Chargers will get to compete at home for the first time in the outdoor season next weekend when they host the Hillsdale Invitational.
