RALEIGH, N.C. -- The 4x200-meter relay highlighted the final day of competition for the Western Michigan track and field team at the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University on Saturday.

The weather wasn't ideal for sprint races with temperatures in the 30's, along with high winds. WMU's team of Sarita Dotason, Naiomi Dulaney, Alexis Hull and Lindsey Hufnagel combined for a time of 1:41.44 seconds to take sixth overall.

"The times weren't all that great due to the weather," said head coach Kelly Lycan. "But they did a good job of competing and that's a good finish in a field like this."

Sophomore Keyera Lige saw a four-second improvement from her running in the 400-meter hurdles here last season, taking 10th overall with a time of 1:03.86. Hufnagel competed in the event for the first time since rupturing her Achilles tendon at the 2013 Outdoor Mid-American Conference Championships. The senior was running a good pace but tripped on the final hurdle.

"Both of them looked good," added Lycan. "That's a great improvement for Keyera and I look forward to having some serious point-scoring capability in this event this season."

Western Michigan hosts MAC rivals Eastern Michigan on Friday for the Bronco Classic beginning at 11 a.m. at Kanley Track & Field Complex.
