The Hillsdale College men's track team split up this weekend with half making the trip to Boston University, and the other half in Grand Rapids, at Grand Valley University.

In Boston, the young 4x400 meter relay team with freshmen Lane Whit, Colby Clark, David Chase, and sophomore Ty Etchemendy crushed the Hillsdale College school record with a time of 3:14.30, also hitting the provisional mark to qualify for nationals. Clark's individual time within the 400 was an impressive 48.34 split.

Senior Cross Country All-American Josh Mirth dominated in the 3000 running a time of 3:14.01.

Etchemendy also finished off the Charger's trip to Boston strong with a strong triple jump performance placing him on the provisional list.

Back in Grand Rapids, the chargers had a solid weekend. Freshman Jared Schipper broke the school's pole vault record jumping 16'6", as well as hitting the provisional mark.

The men's distance squad hit multiple personal bests. Sophomore Evan Carter and senior John Wierenga both beat their times in the 5000 meter run, as well as sophomore Joseph Newcomb hitting a new personal best in 3000, which is one of the best time in the GLIAC.

The Chargers compete again at home for the Hillsdale Tune-Up meet on February 21st.
