Bay City, Mich. – Breanna Luba and Jamie Roberts nabbed the female GLIAC Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors after their dominating performance at the GVSU Quad Meet this past Saturday.

Luba, a freshman from Southgate, took second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.70. Her time in the hurdles also puts her first in the GLIAC in the event and ninth in Division II. She was also a member of the second-place 4x400 meter 'A' relay team that ran a time of 3:52.97.

A senior from Kingston, Roberts jumped 3.94 meters, hitting a provisional mark in the event while out-jumping the next highest finisher by .25 meters. Her vault puts her at the top of the conference in the event and second in Division II behind Kimberly Peterson of Sioux Falls (3.95m).

Winning the male track & field awards were Drew Windle of Ashland and Lake Erie's Joseph Postwaite. Windle won the 800 meter run at the Penn State National Invitational over the weekend, running a time of 1:48.41 to automatically qualify for the NCAA Indoor National Championship. Meanwhile, Postwaite placed first in the triple jump at the SPIRE Midwest Indoor T&F Open with a mark of 15.07m, putting him fourth overall in Division II.

Grand Valley State is back in action this Friday when they take on Saginaw Valley State in their annual dual meet at 5 p.m.
