WSU - Men's Cross Country Places Sixth at GLIAC Championships

TIFFIN, Ohio -- Junior Eddie Komph (Chesterfield, Mich. / Anchor Bay) placed 14th overall to help lead the Wayne State University men's cross country team to place sixth out of 15 teams Saturday at the 2014 GLIAC Cross Country Championships. The meet was hosted by Tiffin University.
The Warriors placed sixth with 178 points. Grand Valley State claimed the men's team title with 33 points.
Komph earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors by finishing in the top 20, completing the 8-kilometer race in 14th place with a time of 24:26.9.
Senior Nick Culbertson (Clinton Twp., Mich. / Dakota) placed 26th overall with a time of 25:02.2 and junior Irvin Wyche (Chesterfield, Mich. / L'Anse Creuse) ran in a time of 25:45.6 earning 46th place.
Senior Kory Lohrmann (Romeo, Mich.) crossed the line at 25:52.6 receiving 51st place and junior Joey Gerow (Romeo, Mich.) finished 68th in a time of 26:24.2.
Sophomore Andrew Nelson (Armada, Mich. / Romeo) finished in 72nd place with a time of 26.29.9 and sophomore Sawyer Smith (Flushing, Mich.) came in at 26:45.1 earning 97th place.
Senior Patrcik Miller (Lenox, Mich. / Saint Clair) earned 97th placed in a time of 26:57.4 rounding out the Wayne State team.
