EMU - Frauhammer Paces Green and White at EMU Fall Classic

DEXTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)—Eastern Michigan University's women's cross country team ran four athletes in the final meet leading up to the 2014 Mid-American Conference Championship, as the Eagles hosted the EMU Fall Classic, Oct. 24.

The non-scored event was led by Amy Frauhammer (Saline, Mich.-Saline) with a 26th-place finish. Frauhammer finished in 18:35.9, more than 10 seconds faster than her time for the 5,000-meter course one season ago. Frauhammer was followed by Lauren Pottschmidt (Granger, Ind.-Penn) in 19:25.0 for 54th.

The final two Eagles to cross the line were Rebecca Quaintance (Commerce, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern) and Claire Mesa (Rockford, Ill.-Rockford Lutheran) in 20:04.6 and 20:35.5, respectively.

Eastern will head to Mount Pleasant, Mich. next weekend for the 2014 MAC Championships. After a fourth-place showing last year, the Green and White is ready to make strides within the conference and bolster its strength among MAC ranks. The women's race will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
