OAKLAND COMPETES IN ANNUAL BRADLEY PINK CLASSIC

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland men's and women's cross country teams head to Peoria, Ill. to compete in the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 17. The meet will be held on the Newman Golf Course with the Women's 6K Red race starting at 4:25 p.m. ET and the Men's 8K Red to follow at 5:05 p.m. ET.
Last season, Bryce Stroede led the men's team to an 11th place finish in the 8K placing 24th with a time of 25:05. Sammy Mondry paced the Golden Grizzlies in the women's 6K with a 27th place finish at 21:44 helping the team to a ninth place finish.
For the second time this season, Andrew Bowman was named Horizon League Runner of the Week for the week of Sept. 29 - Oct. 5 after leading Oakland to a 10th place team finish at the Notre Dame Invitational finishing 21st out of 181 runners in the men's 5-mile race with a time of 24:40.6.
Earlier this season, Bowman earned Runner of the Week honors after capturing the men's 6K title in the 14th annual Golden Grizzly Open with a time of 18:40.9. He won the race by almost 12 seconds helping Oakland claim the team title defeating The University of Detroit Mercy 27-29.
Ashley Burr was also named Horizon League Runner of the Week finishing the women's 4K with a time of 14:40.2 to lead Oakland's women's team to a first-place finish over The University of Detroit Mercy 20 - 41 at the Golden Grizzly Open.
