Maurice Jones did it again.
The junior sprinter/hurdler became an All-American for the second time in 2013-14 and third time overall in his career with a third-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles Saturday at the 2014 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Jones's time of 50.82 seconds was also good enough to be a new school record. His was the highest finish of anyone on the Charger men's track team that participated in this year's national championships, hosted by Grand Valley State University.
The 4x400 relay team finished 13th and Justin Fawley finisehd in 16th place in the decathlon in Friday's action at GVSU.
The relay team was highlighted by a 46-second split from Maurice Jones, but still finished 13th with a time of 3:13.40. The foursome of Ty Etchemendy, Elliot Murphy, Matthew Raffin and Jones holds the school record in the 4x400, at 3:11.
Fawley (pictured) qualified for a national meet for the very first time, and finished the decathlon with 6,367 points. He recorded a number of personal-bests in some of the events, such as 10.62 meters in the shot put and 11.27 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
