Ann Arbor's Chris Landry is 2014 USATF National 10-Mile Champion
Ann Arbor resident Christopher Landry has won the 2014 USATF Men's 10 Mile Championship at the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run in Washington D.C on April 6.
Landry, 27, who ran collegiately at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, VA, finished with a time of 46:41. Landry's current P.R.'s are 28:52 for 10K and 2:14:44 for the marathon.
In the women's division of the USATF 10 Mile Championship, first place went to Janet Bawcom of Flagstaff, Arizona in a time of 52:12.
Detroit-area residents and Hansons-Brooks ODP team members Dot McMahan and Melissa Johnson-White finished just outside of the top ten in the USATF Women's Championship. McMahan finished in 11th (17th overall) in 55:36 and Johnson-White ended up in 12th (20th overall) in 57:10.
Another runner in the women's competition with a Michigan connection was Tina Muir. Muir, who ran collegiately for Ferris State University, finished in 18th overall in a time of 56:37.
