WMU - Track & Field Wraps Up Day One at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Western Michigan women's track and field team wrapped up day one of the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University on Friday night with Andrea Arnold and the sprint medley relay highlighting the day's competition.
Arnold took eighth overall in the 400-meter dash after finishing second in her heat with a time of 55.12 seconds. Junior Alexis Hull ran a time of 56.52 gto take 27th overall in the large field.
The sprint medley squad ran a time of 4:00 to take fourth overall in the lone relay race run on the day. The Broncos finished ahead of several big name schools like Boston College, North Carolina and Duke.
WMU placed well in the discus with Stephanie Negrete leading the way with a sixth place finish and a distance of 47.41m (155-06). Andrea Hiler took ninth overall with a distance of 45.68m (149-10).
Teresa Marin was the top finisher for the Broncos in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:16.79. Senior Alex Forsythe turned in a time of 4:52.33 in the 1,500-meter run for the team's top finish.
Western Michigan has a full schedule on Saturday, including five more relay races.
