Hillsdale College - Women's Cross Country Team Finishes 15th at Nationals

Competing on the ultimate stage for the first time as a team, the Hillsdale College women's cross country team matched its final national ranking with its finish.
Competing at the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championships in Spokane, Wash., the Chargers finished 15th overall with 413 team points.
Hillsdale made the long trip out west with one of the youngest teams in the field. Its scoring lineup featured just one senior - captain Victoria McCaffrey. The team's top four runners were made up of two sophomores and two freshmen.
Sophomore Kristina Galat was the team's top runner at the meet with a 63rd-place finish, with a time of 22:15.4. Following Galat was sophomore Emily Oren, who's time of 22:32.2 was good for 91st overall.
Freshman Molly Oren (108th) finished one spot ahead of McCaffrey. Oren had a time of 22:41, while McCaffrey logged a 22:43.5 in her final collegiate race. Junior Chelsea Kilgore was the team's fifth-place runner, and she was followed by freshman Julia Bos and junior Shena Albaugh among the team's runners at the race.
GLIAC rival Grand Valley State won the national championship for the second straight year, finishing with 22 points at the meet.
