EMU - Men's Cross Country Concludes NCAA Regional Competition

MADISON, Wisc. (EMUEagles.com)--Eastern Michigan University's men's cross country team concluded competition in the 2013 NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet, Nov. 15, with a 10th-place showing among some of the nation's toughest competitors.

Redshirt-junior Warren Witchell (Williamstar, Mich.-Dansville) paced the Eagles with a 31:18 mark in the 10,000-meter race, earning the only top-30 place for the squad. However, three members of the Green and White landed in the top-75 of the field. Junior Daryl Smith (Windsor, Ontario-Vincent Massey S.S.) and senior Harry Dixon (Nelson, New Zealand-Nayland College) finished one spot apart at 55th and 56th, respectively. Senior Grzegorz Kalinowski (Torun, Poland-Nicolaus Copernicus University)'s mark of 32:16 was good for 69th-place.

The University of Michigan earned the distinction of first-place team finish, after knocking off Wisconsin in its search for a 12th-straight title by three points.
