Oakland Men and Women Place Second at 27th Annual Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational

NORTHVILE, Mich. - Sammy Mondry crossed the finish line first for Oakland and fourth overall with a time of 19:01.47 in the women's 5K and teammate Andrew Bowman finished first for Oakland and fourth overall in 20:53.39 for the men's four-mile event on Saturday in the 27th Annual Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational as Cass Benton Park in Northville, Mich. Both teams earned a second place finish for the event with the women earning 39 points and the men's team earning 47 points.



"We came into today with a plan and for the most part executed it very well. We used a different race strategy to emphasize the middle part of our races today," explained head coach, Paul Rice. "To do that we held back early in the race. We also held two of our top men out, so we look forward to them coming back to race in two weeks. We now have two weeks to get ready for the next race. I look forward to working closely with this great group of athletes over the next few weeks as we prapare for our trip to Ontario."
