Trio of Former Wolverines Set for World Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Former University of Michigan women's track and field student-athletes Tiffany (Ofili) Porter (2006-09), Nicole (Edwards) Sifuentes (2005-08) and Bettie Wade (2006-09) will represent their respective countries at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Athletics from Aug. 10-18 in Moscow, Russia.

Porter will represent Great Britain in the 100-meter hurdles, Sifuentes will compete for Canada in the 1,500-meter run, and Wade will represent the USA in the heptathlon.

This will mark Porter (2011) and Wade's (2009) second trip to the World Championships, while Sifuentes will make her first appearance at the event.

Porter and Sifuentes were members of their respective Olympic teams for the 2012 London Games, each advancing to the semifinals.

Current U-M assistant coach Sandy Fowler was also selected to represent Team USA as a women's assistant coach, specializing in the throwing events.

Note: Moscow, Russia is in the Moscow Standard Time Zone, which is eight hours ahead of the Eastern Daylight Time Zone.
