U of M - Addison, Eccleston Cap Successful Seasons at USA Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Former University of Michigan women's tracksters Rebecca Addison (2010-13) and Amanda Eccleston (2013) each competed at the USA Track and Field Championships on Thursday (June 20) at Drake Stadium. The meet serves as the Team USA qualifier for this year's IAAF World Championships, which will be held from Aug. 10-18 in Moscow, Russia.
Eccleston competed in the first round of the 1,500-meter run, clocking a time of 4:24.00 to place 14th in heat one and 28th overall.
In the 800-meter run first round, Addison clocked a time of 2:10.20 to finish seventh in heat one and 33rd overall. Former Wolverine and 2012 Olympian Geena Gall earned one of four automatic-qualifying spots in her heat with a time of 2:02.85 and will now compete in the 800-meter semifinals on Friday (June 21) at 8:08 p.m. CDT.
