Detroit Mercy - Grand Valley State Hosts Final Outdoor Track and Field Meet of 2013

ALLENDALE, Mich. (5/112013) -- Following the 2013 Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships the Titans hosted at Eastern Michigan last weekend, a few select student-athletes from the University of Detroit Mercy men's and women's outdoor track and field team competed at Grand Valley State in a pair of meets this Friday and Saturday to wrap up the 2013 campaign.
Grand Valley State hosted the 2nd to Last Chance Meet on Friday and the Last Chance Meet on Saturday.
On Friday, junior Louisa Coppola ran 4:48.10 in the women's 1500 meters and placed 13th of 20 overall.
In the 5000 meters, Ciara Curley-Poppe ran a personal best of 18:36.00 while Sara Taylor also had a personal record time of 18:43.60. Junior Torrie Eger was also in the distance competition with a time of 19:46 as the trio finished 6-7-8 overall.
Graduate student Bob Radlich was ninth of 34 in the men's 1500 meters with a personal record of 3:56.33 while Joshua Carolina was 18th with his PR of 4:02.41.
Senior Ja'Quan Patterson was seventh in the men's long jump at 6.73m/22-1.00.
On Saturday, junior Charles Anthony ran in the men's 200 meters with a time of 22.30 to place fourth. Freshman Colton Wirgau was third in the men's 400 meter dash with a time of 51.82 and sophomore Justin Peguese tied for eighth in the men's high jump with a leap of 1.89m/6-2.25.
