Oakland U - Oakland Track and Field Completes Day Two of Action at GVSU Big Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Karli Keur finished runner-up in the 1-mile run and Breanna Peabody tallied a third-place finish in the 60m dash as the Oakland men's and women's track and field teams completed action at the GVSU Big Meet on Saturday.
"Today was another great step in the season for many of our athletes," said coach Paul Rice. "What you hope for is they make the most of meet right before the league championships. It seems like we did see that this weekend. It's great to see these young athletes embracing these opportunities and performaing so well on a big stage like this."
Keur earned a time of 5:04.31 in the 1-mile run and Peabody finished with a time of 7.83 in the 60m dash. For the men, Nick Bobek tallied an eighth-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.00, Glen Scott finished ninth in the 800m run with a 1:55.99 and George O'Connor earned a time of 4:20.09 in the 1-mile run.
Other standouts for OU were Courtney Stauffer with a 11th-place finish with a time of 2:18.90, Andrew Stebbins tallied a 12th-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 49 feet, 6.50 and Jake Scheffler finished 13th in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 2.75.
The Golden Grizzlies will be in action in two weeks when they compete in The Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by South Dakota, Feb. 24-25.
