MADISON, WIS. -- The Western Michigan cross country team wrapped up the 2012 season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Friday afternoon at the University of Wisconsin.

WMU's top five runners all finished within 37 seconds of each other in the 6k race but the Broncos finished 27th overall. Aisha Hodge once again led the pack for the Broncos with a time of 22:44. Senior Teresa Marin was just 10 seconds behind her at 22:54.

"I thought Aisha did a good job all year of shouldering the load and being our top runner," said head coach Kelly Lycan. "I think physically she is someone who could be an All-MAC caliber runner and I think mentally she is starting to realize that. She has been very consistent all year and its really going to pay dividends this track season."

Becca Peacock, Ashley Moyer and Alex Forsythe all finished within 20 seconds of each other. Peacock at 23:01, Moyer at 23:11 and Forsythe at 23:21 to round out the Bronco top five.

"Teresa, Becca and Ashley were a part of our top five all year," added Lycan "Alex also did a job after not having run in a few weeks. She came out and competed. I though the top five stayed together very well and I think we should have a vastly improved cross country team next year.
