Wayne State Women - Cross Country takes 3rd at Roy Griak

Minneapolis, MN -- Amanda Brewer (Ionia, Mich. / Ionia) again paced the Wayne State women's cross country team as the Warriors traveled to the University of Minnesota for the 27th annual Roy Griak Invitational. The 30 school race was highlighted by a third place finish for the Warriors on Saturday morning with 413 total runners taking part.
Brewer finished with a time of 22:47.8 which was good enough for 11th overall and really set the tone for Wayne State. Kayla Gagnon (Riverview, Mich. / Riverview) took home 25th as she was about a minute behind her teammate with a time of 23:32.2 while Olivia Kwiatkowski (Shelby Twp., Mich. / Utica) was just 18 seconds behind with that time manging a 44th place finish.
Wayne State tallied 172 points leaving them behind Winona State (134 pts.) and race winners Colorado Springs who recorded 119 points.
Chelsie Fuller (Saginaw, Mich. / Freeland) finished 49th, freshmen Kayla Balfour (St. Clair, Mich. / St. Clair) and Brittany Johnson (Oxford, Mich. / Oxford) took home 59th and 61st respectively. Jamie Palmer (Vassar, Mich. / Vassar) came in 73rd while Chelsea Johnson (Oxford, Mich. / Oxford) rounded out the Warrior runners in the top 100 at 95th overall.
