Wayne State - Men's XC Second at Detroit Titan Invite

Northville, Mich. -- The Wayne State University men's cross country team took home a second-place finish at the 26th Annual Running Fit-Detroit Titan Invitational at Cass-Benton Park on Saturday with 47 points.
The conditions were nearly perfect after an overnight shower and junior Nicholas Jackson (Washington, Mich. / Romeo) took advantage with a second-place finish overall in a time of 20:42. Senior Jimmy Maloney (Wyandotte, Mich. / Roosevelt) placed fourth just seven seconds behind Jackson.
Sophomore Nick Culbertson (Clinton Twp., Mich. / Dakota), who finished 28th in last years run, cut his performance in half with a 14th place showing with a time of 21:14. Senior Phil Baldick (Macomb, Mich. / Dakota) was 22nd with a 21:33 pace.
The men trailed by 21 total points to Bucknell University who dominated the race with eight runners finishing in the top 15 overall including race winner John Dugan in a time of 20:31.
The men's next run will be the Mack Cooper Classic in Slippery Rock, Pa. this Friday at 5pm.
