EMU - Asia Rawls to Compete at NCAA Championships in Des Moines

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team is sending Asia Rawls, a junior hurdler, to the NCAA Championships, June 6-9, hosted by Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.


Rawls, a junior from Waterford, Mich. will be competing in the 400-meter hurdles after qualifying for the nationals with a time of 58.50 Friday, May 25, at the NCAA East Preliminary Round. The semifinal round of the 400-meter hurdles is slated for 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.


The NCAA Championships run all day, June 6-9. The first event scheduled is the men's discus, June 6, at 2:30 p.m. while the final event of the weekend is the women's 4x400-meter relay set for 12:50 p.m. Saturday afternoon, June 9.
