Stanford, Calif. - Distance runners for the men's and women's track team competed at the highest level at the Stanford Invitational on Friday and into Saturday morning, EST, led by senior Holly Anderson's new school record in the 10,000m run.

Anderson broke the women's 10,000m run school record with a time of 34:45.70 in the section two heat, good for 26th place overall. The previous school record of 35:23.59 was set in 2010 by current teammate Raeanne Lohner.

This is the second school record Anderson has set this season, following her mark in the indoor 5,000m run during the winter. This is the eighth total school record the Chippewas have broken this season.

In the women's 5,000m run, Lohner finished 24th in the section two heat of the women's 5,000m run with a time of 16:41.51 in her first race for the Chippewas since the 2011 indoor season.
